Hello to you all
I am sending this a day
early because tomorrow I will be attending the FMSSAS Trustees’ Meeting in
Chichester at the hotel where we had the FM conference over Easter weekend. I would urge you to view the Chrysalis Effect
in detail. It would appear to be just
what we have all been looking for, hoping for and waiting for.

LOSING EMPLOYMENT & SUPPORT
ALLOWANCE
About 100,000 ill and disabled people
will lose their Employment and Support Allowance on 30 April 2012.
From that date a new time limit will
apply to the Employment and Support Allowance which is paid on the basis of
National Insurance contributions. It is called contributory ESA. At the moment
it can be paid indefinitely. In future the allowance, worth £99.15 a week, will stop after one year.
The one year time limit will apply at
once to an estimated 100,000 people who have already been on contributory ESA
for at least a year. Another 100,000 will lose it by April 2013.
The number affected will grow by about
200,000 a year. By 2015/16 a total of 700,000 people on contributory ESA will
have lost it when they reached the one year time limit. The Government
estimates the net savings to the Treasury will be £1 billion in 2014/15.

How Stress Affects Your Body
Life is often full of
frustrating hassles, deadlines and demands. As a result, many people experience
stress on a daily basis. While stress can be a motivating force that helps you
perform under pressure, too much of it isn’t good for your health.
Stress has even been shown to play a role in chronic conditions like
cardiovascular disease and stroke, as well as digestive problems such as
irritable bowel syndrome.

Stress management diet
Stress management can be a
powerful tool for staying healthy. There's evidence that too much pressure
doesn't just put you in a bad mood. People who are under constant stress are
more vulnerable to everything from colds to high blood pressure and heart
disease. Although there are many ways to cope, one solution is to eat
stress-fighting foods. Read on to learn how a stress management diet can help.

That is all for now.
There’s plenty to get your teeth into both literally and metaphorically. I am always interested to learn about
outcomes – what has helped you, what hasn’t, and where you are on that long
journey of recovery. That journey may
not need to be so long after all. Tell
be about it if you try the Chrysalis Effect Recovery Programme. It is the most promising thing I have seen in
a long time.

N.B. I would like
to point out to you all that the information in my eNewsletters does not
necessarily infer endorsement by the charity Fibromyalgia Support for Surrey
& Sussex. Any advice or recommendation of a medical or legal
nature must always be discussed with a qualified professional. The charity
cannot be held responsible for omissions and/or errors.
Sites I refer you
to are for information only. They might conflict in their opinions, they
might not even be medically sound, but I merely offer them for you to peruse
and make your own judgements, accept or reject as you will. Only by
reading widely can we get an overall picture of fibromyalgia syndrome and how
we can deal with its symptoms, learn to cope with them and still have a life.
I also include
various awareness and local issues as well as general health considerations. Anyone wishing to reproduce any of the
above items in printed form should seek permission from the originators.
