Universal Credit: Government must ensure plans protect most
vulnerable, say MPs
In a report published today, 22 November 2012, "Universal
Credit implementation: meeting the needs of vulnerable claimants", the
Work and Pensions Committee concludes that the Government has designed a
welfare system which should help ease the transition from benefits to work, but
warns that significant concerns remain about the potential impact of the
changes on some of the most vulnerable benefit claimants. It urges the
Government to reflect on its ambitious implementation timetable.

Motability admits it might have to take back 100,000 vehicles
Motability has admitted that up to 100,000 disabled people could
have to hand back the vehicles they lease under its car scheme, because of the
government’s cuts and reforms to disability living allowance (DLA).

Create a Social Life
Supportive social contact is a huge buffer against a chronic
illness like fibromyalgia, says Connie O’Reilly, Ph.D., of Beaverton, OR. But
couples may have to rethink and recreate a social life based on new realities.
On an individual basis, patients may need to consider new pastimes that are fun
but don’t drain their energy bank or overwork sore muscles (see the article on New
Hobbies).

Weekly
Ultrasound Plus TENS Cuts Pain in Half
The two most common treatments for musculoskeletal pain used by
physical therapists are ultrasound and transcutaneous electrical nerve
stimulation (TENS). Ultrasound works by emitting sound waves from a hand-held
wand that penetrates between 1 and 2 inches deep into soft tissue, such as your
muscles. These sound waves can increase heat and improve circulation in the
region, relax muscles, and heal tissues. TENS units work by applying two pads
placed on the skin across a painful area. The small unit emits an electric
signal believed to ease discomfort by activating the natural opioid
pain-relieving system in the spinal cord.

Test results and what they mean
Dr Sarah Myhill explains various medical tests and how test
results are often not properly interpreted. The reasons why this happens are to

Need Help Repairing Leaky Gut Syndrome, Improving Immune
Support, & Reducing Inflammation?
Poor immune function, inflammation, and intestinal permeability
(AKA – leaky gut) are common problems for those with gluten sensitivity.
How does gluten break down immune function? Let’s look at this in closer
detail.

The Term Gluten is Evolving as More & More Research is Done
I (Dr Peter Osborne) was recently invited to speak about gluten
and food allergies on Fox News. In the interview, I discuss some of the
newer research pertaining to gluten
sensitivity. Additionally, I discuss how many legumes (soy,
peanuts, etc) can create the same type of damage as gluten. I also
referred to a new research study has identified 2 forms of corn gluten
that trigger an immune response in patients with gluten sensitivity. You
can watch the video here:

Protect Yourself
Against the Cold and Flu…
Boost Your Immunity Naturally Without a Flu Shot
Vitamin D Therapy
Protocol
I Recommend this protocol as a safe alternative to the flu
vaccination. It also works very well for those with active viral and
bacterial infections. You can use this protocol at the first sign of the
flu or as a prophylactic natural flu shot. If using in this way, I
recommend taking your first regimen the first week of school followed by a
second regimen in mid December. You should consider seeing your doctor to
have your 25 OH D levels (a simple blood test) measured as well.

Are You Unknowingly a Victim of
Unnecessary "Adrenal Fatigue"?
Do you feel constantly tired, moody and depressed? Do you wake up feeling tired even after a full night’s rest? Do you crave sugary and salty foods, and depend on your morning coffee just to keep your eyes open?
Do you feel constantly tired, moody and depressed? Do you wake up feeling tired even after a full night’s rest? Do you crave sugary and salty foods, and depend on your morning coffee just to keep your eyes open?
These are all common symptoms of
adrenal fatigue -- a condition caused, in short, by too much stress and work.
It’s estimated that up to 80 percent of adults suffer from adrenal fatigue, yet
it continues to be a largely ignored and overlooked health problem, according
to
Dr. James Wilson, author of
"Adrenal Fatigue: The 21st Century Stress".

The Four Types of Foods That ZAP Your
Brain Power the Most
Do you ever feel foggy after lunch? Can't think straight after certain meals? It's not all in your head. The food you eat has a very real, and very significant, impact on your mind -- including your ability to think clearly.
Do you ever feel foggy after lunch? Can't think straight after certain meals? It's not all in your head. The food you eat has a very real, and very significant, impact on your mind -- including your ability to think clearly.
"There are certain nutrients that
are important for a healthy brain and there are certain foods that you need to
avoid, such as alcohol, because they destroy brain cells," says Dr. John
Westerdahl, director of Wellness and Lifestyle Medicine for Castle Medical
Center in MidWeek.
