LOSING EMPLOYMENT & SUPPORT ALLOWANCE
About 100,000 ill and disabled people will lose their Employment and Support Allowance on 30 April 2012.
From that date a new time limit will apply to the Employment and Support Allowance which is paid on the basis of National Insurance contributions. It is called contributory ESA. At the moment it can be paid indefinitely. In future the allowance, worth £99.15 a week, will stop after one year.
The one year time limit will apply at once to an estimated 100,000 people who have already been on contributory ESA for at least a year. Another 100,000 will lose it by April 2013.
The number affected will grow by about 200,000 a year. By 2015/16 a total of 700,000 people on contributory ESA will have lost it when they reached the one year time limit. The Government estimates the net savings to the Treasury will be £1 billion in 2014/15.

How Stress Affects Your Body
Life is often full of frustrating hassles, deadlines and demands. As a result, many people experience stress on a daily basis. While stress can be a motivating force that helps you perform under pressure, too much of it isn’t good for your health. Stress has even been shown to play a role in chronic conditions like cardiovascular disease and stroke, as well as digestive problems such as irritable bowel syndrome.

Stress management diet
Stress management can be a powerful tool for staying healthy. There's evidence that too much pressure doesn't just put you in a bad mood. People who are under constant stress are more vulnerable to everything from colds to high blood pressure and heart disease. Although there are many ways to cope, one solution is to eat stress-fighting foods. Read on to learn how a stress management diet can help.

Hi everyone
What a wet week we have had!  But wet is welcome at the moment and the more we get the better it is for vegetation, reservoirs and rivers.  At the moment the sun is shining but I believe more rain is on its way.  I prefer warm weather and sunshine myself but for the common good I’m pleased to perceive some precipitation!

Do you feel constantly tired, moody and depressed?  Do you wake up feeling tired even after a full night’s rest? Do you crave sugary and salty foods, and depend on your morning coffee just to keep your eyes open?

These are all common symptoms of adrenal fatigue -- a condition caused, in short, by too much stress and work. It’s estimated that up to 80 percent of adults suffer from adrenal fatigue, yet it continues to be a largely ignored and overlooked health problem, according to Dr. James Wilson, author of "Adrenal Fatigue: The 21st Century Stress".

Spouse's Reaction May Affect Pain Management - Husbands appear more sensitive than wives, study says
Chronic pain can hinder communication between spouses, which, in turn, can impair the affected partner's ability to cope with the pain, according to a new study.
Previous research has shown that validation of a spouse's emotions (showing respect and acceptance) promotes emotional control, trust and closeness, while invalidation of emotions (showing hostility or no interest) increases emotional distance and is associated with poor adjustment within the marriage and depression.

Radiofrequency Ablation for Chronic Pain - What is radiofrequency ablation?
Radiofrequency ablation of nerves is a procedure that may be used to reduce certain kinds of chronic pain by preventing transmission of pain signals. It is a safe procedure in which a portion of nerve tissue is heated to cause an interruption in pain signals and reduce pain in that area. This procedure is sometimes called radiofrequency lesioning.

More than a thousand sickness benefit claimants died last year after being told to get a job, we can reveal.
We've highlighted worries about the controversial medical tests for people claiming Employment Support Allowance which are being used to slash the country's welfare bill.
The Government has boasted that more than half of new claimants are found "fit to work" - failing to mention that over 300,000 have appealed the decision and almost 40% have won.

People with nerve pain feel it in different ways. For some, it's a stabbing pain in the middle of the night. For others, symptoms can include a chronic prickling, tingling, or burning they feel all day.  Uncontrolled nerve pain can be hard to bear. But with treatment, it can often be adequately controlled.
